I am looking to work for a company that shares my values (below), where I can be of maximum service and make a meaningful contribution to the lives of my colleagues, my internal and external customers, and to the overall success of the enterprise.
To that end, I'm seeking a long-term partnership with an employer that will allow me to empower others through coaching & mentorship, through process & design, through creating & implementing useful and meaningful structures, and through sharing the benefit of my broad and deep (and often comical) experience. Remote, full-time, salaried/exempt, direct-hire, with appropriately flexible hours, is preferred.
What's not on my resume? Well, I have been told that I'm a rare breed, indeed:
I am unabashedly unafraid to enter a room or a conversation with anyone, and I try to approach all things directly and with authenticity (while I am respectful of titles and tenures, I don't let them dictate my view of a person's worth or potential to contribute... titles and tenures just tell me what they're good at).
I'm not afraid to make mistakes because I learn from them, and can use those experiences to save others from the same pain or embarrassment. I am a true lifelong learner!
I'm not power-driven or rapaciously ambitious; I know what I like to do and what I'm good at doing, and I am content in striving to be the best version of myself in those areas, but I also allow for my organic growth and evolution.
To the unfamiliar eye, I might seem naive or unknowing because I often ask tons of questions. This is because I know that I can be a juggernaut, so I try to seek understanding, and others' perspectives, and/or a clarity of vision, before I go "all-in" and act. I'd rather invest the time to first understand, rather than just assume.
I see human potential everywhere, and for those who have been traditionally marginalized, much of that potential is untapped, so I'm that much MORE eager to learn from them.
I have no lofty financial goals, but I do expect to be compensated within a fair and equitable spectrum, because I know my work product and thought leadership are highly valuable. I have created an entrepreneurial mindset that allows my bills to be paid and needs met, with a little bit put away for later. I'm not greedy or trapped by consumerism, and I don't need "things" to showcase my success.
Now, I'm also not perfect (insert your gasp, here), so I do get distracted by "shiny" or novel doodads on occasion. But I also have developed the ability (and maturity) to weigh any immediate material distraction against my core values to see if it is a temporary desire or something that is worthwhile and useful.
Here's a quick and fun video about what to expect when you hire me!
... And just like they always said on Reading Rainbow (Yes, I'm a Gen X'er), "But you don't have to take my word for it!" Click Here for some testimonials from my References that will corroborate all you've read so far.
Always do the right, just & honest thing, no matter what!
Authenticity is the #1 positive character trait; "Let your freak flag fly!"
Transparency and rigorous honesty are virtues
Check your motives - Are you acting through love?
Be present - Your time and attention are priceless
Karma is absolutely real
Silence is consent - See something, say something!
There's got to be a better way
Combine/multi-purpose/recycle/reincarnate whenever possible
Strong prioritization skills streamline tasks
Trust people to develop their own efficiencies; what may work for you, may not work for someone else
"Nice to have" versus "need to have"
The wheel has already been invented!
Efficiency is about effort, not necessarily about speed
Proper preparation prevents poor performance
People have the right to be different from others
EQ is just as important as IQ
It's more than acknowledging and tolerating difference, it is about welcoming, celebrating and leveraging it
A good gumbo has all sorts of ingredients, each important and necessary for maximum flavor and nutrition!
Prejudice and prejudgment are institutionalized; hold individuals and organizations accountable for their conscious and unconscious biases
Dr. Seuss — 'Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.'
Do not judge a fish by it's ability to climb a tree
Look for similarities; the human experience is a tapestry of common, but kaleidoscopically-colored woven threads
Each puzzle piece is essential to the bigger picture and serves a critical need
Fair process - Involve the right people in decisions, projects and results. Who are the REAL stakeholders?
United we stand, divided we fall - "El pueblo, unido, jamas sera vencido!"
Servant Leadership is the #1 principle. How may I be of maximum service?
Remember that there is always someone smarter, faster, stronger - learn from them!
Place principles before personalities; check your ego at the door
Recognize progress, not perfection
Mistakes and failures are critical to troubleshooting success
Humility = Being of "right" size; it does NOT mean humiliation; remember to review the assets as well as the liabilities
Nothing is promised; privilege and entitlement are fallacies; invest in a goal to see it to fruition
True growth happens outside of the comfort zone
Practice humility of culture
Leave a small footprint
Honesty does not have to be brutal
Live a life of consequence - What you do matters and has a ripple effect on others!
Be the CEO of your desk; cultivate an entrepreneurial spirit at work and at home
Apply consequential thinking - "respond" versus "react"
You are 100% accountable for your decisions, choices and actions (or lack thereof); your current situation is a direct result of this
Set high expectations and people will always rise to the occasion (emphasize stretch goals, recognize effort and progress; "Whale Done!")
There is learning to be had in any situation; seek to find that inherent value
Be sensitive to the "Butterfly Effect;" because "... for want of a nail, the kingdom was lost."
Feedback from any source is a gift
Give people room to make mistakes and learn
It's okay to raise awareness and wake people up, but it's irresponsible to stop there - now that they're awake, what's next?
Leave a space better than you found it

One last thing... I made this website 100% by myself! 😲
It's definitely been an intense labor of love, and I've learned SO MUCH about web design, HTML and javascript, keyword searching & meta-tagging, web crawlers, enhanced cybersecurity encryption, SSL Certification, web hosting, name servers, domain management, DNS entry, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), URL anatomy... if it's about putting something on the internet, I've probably read the article, downloaded the freeware version of the tool, and somehow tried to use the new knowledge by incorporating it into the site's design and development!
In other words, no third-party web gurus were used (or harmed) during the creation of this site! For a decent library of many of the resources I used in the site's architecture, I invite you to my Curriculum Design Padlet!
So, if you'd like to give me some pro tips, kudos, constructive (but kind, there's no need to be brutal) criticism, or any other kind of feedback, I WELCOME IT! Please use the Contact Me page to send me a note with your insights, advice, angry letters, or favorite recipes. Thanks for taking the time to read this, whether or not you provide me with the gift of your thoughts!
Take good care and make good choices!
Cheers!
